he Great American Brass Band Festival is a Festival that celebrates brass music and is in its 28th year. The Festival is every June in beautiful downtown Danville, Kentucky and on the campus of Centre College.The Festival is a free, family friendly four day event. Bands come from all over the United States and Europe. We feature many events throughout the 4 days, including, Bayou and Brass Street Party, People’s Parade, Great American Picnic, Kids Art Fest, Great American Swing Dance and our newest event, The Great American Art Festival. Travel to Danville, Kentucky and enjoy this one of a kind Festival.

2017: June 1 – 4
2018: May 31 – June 3

  • Free Parking
  • Private golf carts and 4 wheelers are not allowed on Festival grounds
  • Dogs are discouraged
  • All bikes should be walked through Festival grounds
  • The Food Village features a variety of food for purchase
  • Coolers and outside food are permitted
  • No outside tables permitted
  • No large tents permitted in the main Festival area
  • Outside alcohol is not permitted
  • Alcohol will be available for purchase on Friday & Saturday
  • Keep Festival grounds clean & green
  • Line up & schedule are subject to change
  • No smoking in the festival grounds area
  • Main Festival Area is at 600 Walnut Street, Centre College. We also have venues downtown Danville & other surrounding areas.


The Great American Brass Band Festival is a community event showcasing brass band music through performance and education. The Festival preserves brass band music and explores its cultural influences through a variety of programs and presentations, featuring the best brass musicians in the world.


The GABBF has been conscience of our attendees with disabilities. We have a handicap accessible parking lot that is close to the main stage. We also provide golf cart shuttles, free of charge, from the parking lots to the main stage area. We offer handicap accessible bathrooms for both male and female attendees.  We are happy to individualize an accessibility plan to suit your needs.  Please do not hesitate to call us with questions, concerns or ideas.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities for people with mobility concerns, hearing impairment and mild intellectual disabilities.  Contact us for full details.

This is the inaugural year of the Student Brass Ensembles Program.  Groups applied and were chosen to take part in this program which brings students along side some of the best brass musicians in the world.


Celebrating the great American tradition of community bands and music making, the informative and entertaining event will run from 8:30 am to 4 pm in Weisiger Theatre on the campus of Centre College, Danville, KY on June 2, 2017.
