The Great American Picnic is the pinnacle event of the weekend, the social event of the year, the must see spectacle of the Festival.
Come celebrate the 1920’s at the Great American Picnic! Sit under the stars and savor the world’s best musicians as you enjoy friends and family and the beauty of this magical evening.
Location: In front of Main Stage, Centre College campus* Drop off will be on coned areas on Main Street. More details about this change will come in your picnic packet.
** Please note the new city enforced alcohol policy. No outside alcohol will be permitted on festival grounds. There will be a wide selection of libations available for purchase,. If you bring alcohol on the premises, we will be required to ask you to take it off premises.
** Beer, wine and other libations will be available for purchase. We will send an email in early May giving some options for pre-ordering wine and champagne.
Have your own personal wait staff tending to your drink needs throughout the evening. Your wait staff will be in charge of bringing fresh drinks (alcohol and non-alcoholic) to your table as needed. Drinks can be paid for at the end of the evening. The cost for this service is $100 for your first table and $25 per additional table. If you purchase a second table next to your initial table, the charge for the additional table waiter is only $25. These will be state trained professionals who will be paid by the Festival. No tipping needed.
For $150, you get a table with 8 chairs. No extra chairs are permitted. Tables will be available from 5:00 PM – 11:30 PM.
Inclusive Table Options: Cue on Main, Jane Barleycorn’s Bar & Bistro & Daniel’s Drive Away Cafe will have inclusive table options available. If you purchase an inclusive table option, an email will be sent just before the picnic with times and details related to catering.

Speak Easy Stage:
Be sure to listen for Billy Goat Strut Revue playing between main stage performances on the Speak Easy stage by Walnut Street.
In case of rain, picnic tables will be set up in the Chowan building, one block from main stage on Centre College campus. Chowan will be open at 5:00 pm for table decorating and set up. The performance schedule will be modified with some performers going to Chowan and some performers playing at Norton Center.
