he Great American Brass Band Festival is a Festival that celebrates brass music and is in its 29th year. The Festival happens every June in beautiful downtown Danville, Kentucky and on the campus of Centre College. The Festival is a free, family friendly four day event. Bands come from all over the United States and Europe. Many fine soloists are also featured each year at the Great American Brass Band Festival.

Festival Dates:
2018: May 31 – June 3

  • Free Parking
  • The Food Village features a variety of food for purchase
  • Coolers and outside food are permitted
  • Tables for the Great American Picnic are available for rent
  • Golf carts are available for patrons needing assistance getting to and from parking areas
  • Alcohol will be available for purchase on Friday & Saturday
  • Main Festival Area is at 600 Walnut Street, Centre College. We also have venues in downtown Danville & other surrounding areas.

*Please note the following:

  • Line up & schedule are subject to change
  • Outside alcohol is not permitted
  • No large tents permitted in the main Festival area
  • Smoking is not allowed on the Festival grounds area
  • No outside tables in the picnic area are permitted

MISSION

The Great American Brass Band Festival is a community event showcasing brass band music through performance and education. The Festival preserves brass band music and explores its cultural influences through a variety of programs and presentations, featuring the best brass musicians in the world.

ACCESSIBILITY INFORMATION

The GABBF has been conscience of our attendees with disabilities. We have a handicap accessible parking lot that is close to the main stage. We also provide golf cart shuttles, free of charge, from the parking lots to the main stage area. We offer handicap accessible bathrooms for both male and female attendees.  We are happy to individualize an accessibility plan to suit your needs.  Please do not hesitate to call us with questions, concerns or ideas.

We have a number of volunteer opportunities for people with mobility concerns, hearing impairment and mild intellectual disabilities.  Contact us for full details.

EDUCATION

2018 brings about the second year of the Student Brass Ensembles Program.  Groups applied and were chosen to take part in this program which brings students along side some of the best brass musicians in the world.
