Bayou and Brass Fair
Come enjoy the Louisiana Bayou in the heart of Central Kentucky. Enjoy traditional New Orleans music, Cajun food, Cajun dance, libations and fun for all ages. Have a blast at Bayou & Brass! It’s Mardi Gras in downtown Danville! As part of the Great American Brass Band Festival, downtown Danville will come alive with the sights, sounds and flavors of New Orleans. Bring your kids to enjoy free activities! Be sure to join the 2nd line parade starting at 5:00 pm at the Boyle County Library (parasol decorating information below). Everyone is welcome.
Children’s Bayou Fun
From a Parasol Parade to face painting, the Festival has captured the New Orleans’ spirit for children of all ages to enjoy. On Main Street from 4:00 to 7:00 pm children can enjoy plenty of New Orleans’ inspired fun.
Children can participate in the Parasol Parade. The parade will meet at 4:45 pm in the parking lot of the library and then Parade behind 8UP Brass Band to Weisiger Park.
40 free parasols have been donated for this event. Children can pick up their free parasol at the Boyle County Public Library, decorate it at home, then join the Parasol Parade. Supplies are limited. One parasol per child. Parasols are also available for purchase at Hobby Lobby.
