Performance by Doug Oatley and Brass Impact, Doug’s 10-piece Orchestra

Professional bass trombonist, arranger, composer, clinician and educator; it’s hard to find a musician with the same level of experience as Doug Oatley. As a bass trombonist, Doug has played with entertainment celebrities such as Bob Hope, Vicki Carr, Marilyn McCoo, Billy Davis Jr. of the Fifth Dimension, trombonist Urbie Green, Stan Kenton and many more. Doug performs on a regular basis in gigs such as A Chorus Line and with professional groups such as Big City Groove and the Metrognomes of Lexington, KY.

As an arranger/composer, Doug writes for the 11-piece band, Big City Groove and big band, The Metrognomes. His most acclaimed compositions includes “A Little More Salsa, Please” and “Backburner” as performed by the Metrognomes. As far as arrangements go, it’s hard to find a better one than Oatley’s, Malaguena. The multi-odd-meter tango has impressed musicians and audiences everywhere. It’s impossible to listen to it and not be inspired.
