The Walnut Street Ramblers have performed to great acclaim at the Great American Brass Band Festival in Danville, Kentucky, the Paramount Theatre, the Ashland Park July Fourth Celebration, and at many other locations in Kentucky. In 2011 and again in 2012 the Ramblers toured Spain, performing featured concerts in the Fundacion Botín Auditorium, Santander, the Costa Brava Nights of Jazz Concerts, and the Bilbao Gran Semana City Festival, among others.
Ramblers’ members have appeared with such noted artists as Aretha Franklin, Natalie Cole, Wynonna Judd, Wycliffe Gordon, Diane Schuur, Patrick Swayze, Lou Rawls, the Temptations, Johnny Mathis, Bob Hope, Rosemary Clooney, Doc Severinsen, Mel Torme, Ben Vereen, and ragtime master Max Morath. Members have also performed with ensembles such as Manhattan Transfer, the Glen Miller Orchestra, Lexington Brass Band, DiMartino-Osland Jazz Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra, Kentucky Jazz Repertory Orchestra, the noted Lexington swing dance group The Hepcats, and in such touring musicals as “Chicago” and “Peter Pan.” Though all are accomplished performers in the concert and jazz areas, they have a special love for early jazz and ragtime music. The Walnut Street Ramblers provide an atmosphere of fun, Americana, and musical excitement.
The Ramblers are available for activities large and small, outdoors or indoors, including receptions, parties, dances, festivals, concerts, promotional events, and civic gatherings.
